GHRP-2 (pralmorelin) is a synthetic hexapeptide GH-secretagogue. Approved in Japan as a diagnostic agent for GH deficiency testing (1996); not authorised in the EU, UK or US. Heavily marketed in grey-market peptide circles for body-composition claims that exceed the supporting data.

Status

  • Authorised in Japan as a GHD-diagnostic agent
  • Not authorised in EU, UK, US for therapeutic use
  • Grey-market sales increase appetite (a real effect) and IGF-1 transiently

Why we grade it C

The diagnostic-use approval in one major market confirms the GH-secretagogue pharmacology. But the body-composition therapeutic claims have no Phase 3 support, and the grey-market supply chain is not authorised in the EU. Replication in Western therapeutic populations is absent.
